People lifitng a great deal of their work or inspiration from elsewhere. The games medium has got old enough it is suffering from the same problems as music, film and literature. I can remember years later being unimpressed by various indie games ripping the idea off and putting fancy or pretentious graphics and styling on top and being hailed as great inventors. The one with the MGS demo has a big bundle of Yarzoe games. I have a load of demo discs saved up in the loft i drag out nostalgia now and again. I just google image searched 'Net Yaroze' and it was Psychon, as mentioned in >17258 There was a really good top down shooter, I forgot it's name. I plugged in my ps1 a while ago and spent a few days playing various net yaroze games on the OPM demo discs. Never thought I'd hear anyone here talking about the Yaroze. The new games are a different breed indeed. I ended up getting the Humble Bundle anyway so thought I'd return the favour: IIRC, the Net Yaroze game Psychon is a homage to it. I was hoping for it as it's the only game I've seen out of these that runs on Linux that I don't already have. What do you mean this time, I was the one who didn't get it last time :(.
